Google releases Nexus One video series on YouTube
Google recently began releasing a series of short films that ‘documents’ the making of the Nexus One. When I first got wind of this, I was a little uninterested to watch these. But after sitting through the first two (which amounts to a whole eight minutes), my excitement that I’d had before the release of the phone has resurfaced, causing me to do a little dance, and write a little article.
It looks like the series will have a total of five videos:
- Episode 1 : Concept & Design
- Episode 2: Display & 3D Framework
- Episode 3: Testing
- Episode 4: Manufacturing
- Episode 5: Nexus One : Day One
Maybe Google decided to release the videos after seeing less than stellar sales of their baby in the first month. Perhaps this was the idea all along. Either way, Google is still trying to hype the Nexus One up as much as it can. Whether or not you believe the Nexus One lives up to the hype is your own opinion. I think it deserves more credit than it gets, and more of a marketing push. But hey, at least CNET’s got it right when they names the HTC made Nexus One their Prize Fight winner over Apple’s iPhone.
