T-Mobile UK picking up samsung Galaxy Portal i5700

Samsung’s Galaxy Spica is being renamed and heading over to T-Mobile UK as the Samsung Galaxy Portal i5700.  From what we can tell, hardware on the new Android powered handset is identical to the Galaxy Spica, but T-Mobile has chosen to pre-install the popular augmented reality app Layer on the Galaxy Portal.  I’m sure all of you are hoping for a new version of Android, but the Samsung galaxy Portal will be shipping with Android 1.5, but there are some reporta that the handset will be getting a software update soon enough.  T-Mobile UK customers will be able to pick up the new Android powered Galaxy Portal i5700 for free with a new £18  monthly contract.
