Why wait for the Eris update?

If you are anything like me, you cannot wait for the latest and greatest. So I am sitting at work today going over some domain policies and browsing the web looking for any information on rooting the Eris. I came across a link for the new VZW Eris update that I posted yesterday that included a .ZIP file with the ROM Update Utility and instructions for installation. I ran through the process to verify the installation and everything updated as expected. If you do not feel like waiting on the OTA update, you can download the .ZIP file here.
